The City Services Administration has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and administrations in the city of Mölndal. The administration has about 550 employees and is organized into four operational areas: meals and local care, water and recycling, city maintenance, and support and customer service.
The Water and Recycling operational area works for a sustainable future by ensuring clean water in both taps and waterways and promoting more sustainable consumption with reduced waste. We do this by developing, maintaining, and improving our operations.
JOB DESCRIPTION

As the unit manager for water distribution, you have overall responsibility for leading and developing the unit that daily delivers important water services to the residents of Mölndal. Your assignment includes responsibility for budget, work environment, and personnel, and you drive the strategic and operational work forward in line with the city's goals and vision.
In this role, you are responsible for leading the unit's operations within water distribution with a team of about 15 employees, including operations leaders, pipe layers, operations technicians, and measurement technicians.
This means planning, following up, and developing operations, new installations, and maintenance of water pipelines in-house. You drive and monitor projects within the distribution area, from operations and maintenance efforts to ongoing service, while ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with applicable safety regulations and environmental rules.
An important part of the assignment is coordination, where you collaborate closely with other units, operations, and contractors. You manage environmental issues, ensure that work environment plans are met, and are responsible for planning, scheduling, staffing, and follow-up in operational systems.
The position may involve working with classified information and requires security clearance and background checks. On-call duty may occur.
You are part of the management team for Water and Recycling and report to the area manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a confident, clear, and solution-oriented leader with a strong drive to develop the operations and create tangible community benefit. You have a couple of years of experience leading employees and operations. Experience from municipal operations is considered particularly meritorious.
You have a university degree, preferably with a focus on water technology or another relevant technical field. Alternatively, long experience in water operations that is deemed equivalent.
You possess technical understanding of water distribution and have experience with construction contracts, good knowledge of construction AMA, and the ability to interpret water pipeline maps. You also have good knowledge of work environment issues related to the construction phase and a genuine interest in new technology and innovative solutions.
You are accustomed to working with budgets and financial follow-up and have experience with procurement according to LOU and contract law.

You are decisive and confident in making well-founded decisions even in complex or pressured situations. Your leadership is characterized by presence, structure, and engagement; you build trust, drive development, and help your employees grow.
